Keeping Stardom in the Black

This entry was originally published at The Stewart Adams Project

When in the course of a great social experiment, one must use all channels of communication conceivable to attain that hallowed benchmark of stardom. However, as our world runs some of those channels require a financial base to use to their full potential. As the agent for the world-renowned Stewart Adams, I have the unparalleled privilege of making his rise to stardom economically feasible. To this end, I am now reporting to our essential and appreciated public the progress of these efforts. Currently:

1. We are working on filing articles of organization to become an LLC in the state of Georgia. This will allow us to:
2. Get a Federal tax ID, which will allow us to:
3. Open a Business Savings and Checking account whereby we may begin our:
4. Investments in Stewart Adams Project merchandise, i.e. t-shirts, hats, bumper stickers, business cards, flyers, promotional events, etc. and
5. It will allow us to have a verified PayPal Merchant account whereby we can accept payments for said merchandise and donations by those industrious and generous souls with a concern for the cause.

And as always I have the joy of contributing to the many projects of the project.

Take care!

SA Project Weekly Update 7/20/07

Greetings everyone, quite a few things to cover in today’s update so let’s get to it.

New photos are up on the Flickr gallery, many of these you may have already seen somewhere on our vast collection of networks but we’re moving toward having all of them in one simple place for easy viewing and browsing.

Stewart has started writing the script for the next SA Project video, without giving away too much information it can be confirmed that the video will delve into the idea of fame through consumer products and celebrity endorsement; more on that to come later.

A deadline has now been set for the website to be completely finished, once this goal has been reached we will begin contacting news outlets such as radio, TV and print to promote the project and get more exposure through the modern media. If any of you have connections that would prove helpful in this regard please contact us at stewartadamsproject@gmail.com.

We received a message from a prominent MySpace account last week indicating that they had added us to their top friends list for the sole purpose of getting the project more exposure. If you would be comfortable adding The Stewart Adams Project to your top friends list it would be a very easy way to help spread the word and would allow us to reach a larger audience.

Lastly, if anyone has any connections with heads of companies or organizations that would be interested in sponsoring the Stewart Adams Project in ANY way please let us know. It doesn’t have to be monetary sponsorship, if they’re willing to make a statement, send out an email, etc. Any help would be appreciated so let’s all pool our networking connections and get this thing rolling!

SA Project Weekly Update 7/13/07

Today's update is meant mainly to bring something to your attention that has already been in place for a while but has not received much participation from the Stewart Adams Project community.  The website I speak of is called Frappr.com

To put it simply, Frappr is a mapping service that allows people to view a visual and geographical representation of their social network.  If you have friends all over the world for example, they can put themselves on your map and you have the pleasure of seeing how far your influence and friendship actually reaches in the sense of linear distance.  For the purposes of the SA Project, it is a map showing how far and how fast the project is growing.  We would love to be seeing little dots show up all over the country and even the world, but like most things, this will require your help and involvement.  So add yourself to the SAP map if you haven't already and get your friends to as well.  As a bonus feature, the Frappr maps can be embedded into any HTML space on your network sites and web sites. Happy Friday the 13th!

SA Project Weekly Update - 07/06/07

So this week's update is a little late, this is partly due to the fact that Stewart has been subdued for the past week recovering from oral surgery that rendered him wisdom toothless.  It is also due in part by the fact that the project team held a planning meeting on Friday and we figured we'd just include the results of that meeting in the week's update.

So here we go:

We have a list of bugs that need to be worked out on the website, at the meeting we started on this list and made the following changes:

01. The website now has an icon associated with it that will show up in your browser's address bar next to the URL.  The icon set includes the following images:

02. The Stewart Adams Project Blogger site has been added to the list of networks. Blogger is basically a simple but useful blog hosting site that will house the same updates listed on the website.

03. In order to facilitate easy viewing, searching and archiving of  the project's many photos, a Flickr account has been set up and added to the list of networks.  You can view what we have up so far by clicking here.

stewartadamsproject.com has a new look!

As you can see here, the Stewart Adams Project website has undergone a sizable update. Here are some of the new features:

1. You can now add comments to the posted project updates.
2. Each post is categorized for easy browsing.
3. A search bar has been added to make it easy for you to find what you're looking for.
4. Additional content has been published including profiles of the S.A. Project team.
5. Buttons have been added that link to the appropriate pages.
6. Graphical elements have been added to make the site more aesthetically appealing.

Please keep in mind that this site is still under construction and we will be making necessary changes in the near future. Some things to be looking out for are:

1. The Stewart Adams Project Store.
2. A gallery-style page for each of the media categories: Video, Audio & Images.
3. Both PSP and iPod formatted video available for download.
4. A guest book where everyone can sign to show the growth of the project.

So check back often and send us your feedback, any ideas you have would be most appreciated.

Stewart Adams Asks A Ninja

In the same way that Stewart emailed Strong Bad, a question has also been sent to the Ninja of Askaninja.com. Again, the point is to get Stewart’s name out there as well as provide an interesting/funny question from which the Ninja can answer and elaborate on.

The email:

Do ninjas have lists like Schindler, Craig, or Dean? If so, what/who is on the list?

Video and Website Updates

Thanks to everyone for the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the Tennis Video, we hope you enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed making it. Thanks also to those of you who sent in constructive criticism on how we could make it better. In regard to this, we are using very amateur equipment for the video and audio recording. We hope at some point to be able to upgrade from our Hi8 Handycam to a Pro level HD camera such as the Canon XH with a boom microphone but there are insufficient funds at the moment.

Our next video is currently in preproduction and that's basically all we can tell you at this point...other than it will feature a certain fellow who's 'not so good at sports.'

On a different note, our IT guru Joey has been working on a massive update to our very own Stewart Adams Project website. Weeks in the making, this update will be published by Thursday night at the latest...so visit often and send us your feedback.

Stewart Adams Emails Strong Bad

In an attempt to give Stewart greater name recognition, he emailed a question to ‘Strong Bad,’ a cartoon character from the popular website homestarrunner.com. Our hope is that Strong Bad will answer the email in one of his humorous videos with Stewart’s name signed at the bottom and thus allow Stewart to reach a vast audience.

Here is the actual email:

Hello Strong Bad,

Do you have a list like Schindler, Craig or
Dean? If so, what/who is on your list?

Stewart Adams on Soda Bottles?

Today, the Stewart Adams Project submitted photos and model release forms to Jones Soda Co. for use as labels on their soda bottles. If you’re not familiar with Jones Soda, it is a favorite of the Stewart Adams Project and is now being sold in stores such as Panera Bread, Wal-mart, and Publix. The Jones philosophy of marketing is to use photos submitted by ordinary people rather than spend millions of dollars on a marketing campaign and graphic design….much like what we are doing with the S. A. Project.

The photos we submitted are shown below; click 'Vote!' to view it in the Jones Soda Label Gallery and vote on it with a ‘10’ rating. Your involvement in voting could increase the chances that Stewart will be featured on soda bottles sold in stores across America.

Stewart Adams is Time's Person of the Year

Last year, Stewart Adams was Time Magazine’s Person of the Year as featured in the December 25, 2006/January 1, 2007 issue of the popular publication. One of this year’s goals for the Stewart Adams Project is to make Stewart the Person of the Year for 2 years running.

Ironically, the use of today's Information Age is what makes this project possible.

The S.A. Project to Be Featured in Talon Magazine

Last Saturday, the members of the Stewart Adams Project team were interviewed and photographed by M. Stephen Valdes, a writer for the KSU Student Media feature magazine, Talon.

In the interview we discussed how the project was born, how the subject was chosen, where the team is expecting to go with it and various other interesting details pertaining to Stewart Adams. The article is to be featured in the next issue of Talon which will hit the stands in late Summer.

Here are a couple of the pictures taken for the magazine:

A Busy Week

This has been a busy week for the Stewart Adams Project, here's a quick update on what's been happening:

Tuesday:

The project members held a meeting to brainstorm and work on various aspects of the project itself. The most notable of these is the fact that the website went live around 10:30pm that evening! You can now view the site at www.stewartadamsproject.com, however please bear with us as the site is still being constructed and look for improvements in the very near future.

We also researched the legal/business issues of the project and plan to become incorporated as an LLC. We have also set up a Paypal account that is tied to a checking account, so at some point we will be able to sell Stewart Adams Project merchandise and receive donations online.

Speaking of merchandise, several t-shirt designs were created that night and we are currently looking for the most financially reasonable method for producing them.

Wednesday:

Stewart attended an outdoor photo shoot, the pictures taken from the shoot will be used in various ways throughout the project.

Thursday:

The first Stewart Adams Project video began filming on location in Kennesaw, GA. The video titled Famous People Play Tennis is an original written by Stewart himself that will 'serve' as the first in a series of humorous instructional videos on how to become famous.

Welcome to The Stewart Adams' Project

Welcome to The Stewart Adams Project Blogspot site!

The Stewart Adams Project is a social experiment being conducted by a group of college students to examine the possibility of making someone (in this case, Stewart) famous by simply taking advantage of today's networking resources.

There will be much more to come in the near future, for now get all your friends to subscribe to this site and spread the word. With your help we can make this project a success and perhaps answer some questions regarding the true nature of fame.
